Once the ink is applied to the balloon, the screen is lifted off the balloon and the balloon rotates around the machine to the heat lamps where the ink is quickly dried before the balloon is deflated and the ink is allowed to finish drying. One Colour Print
MULTI-COLOUR PRINTINGFor multi-colour print jobs the number of screens required is dependant on the number of colours printed. When printing a two or more colour job, the first ink colour is printed and allowed to dry quickly underneath the lamps before it is rotated around the machine to where the next colour screen will printed over the top of the first ink colour. The colour of the balloon will also affect the ink colour. PMS colours are best representation of actual colours with minor differences due to print variations. Art SpecificationsArtwork Format and Requirements The quality of the printed image is highly dependent on the quality of the artwork provided. For best results please provide artwork in the following;
Artwork will be reviewed by our Art Department and suitability for print advised. For artwork that does not meet our quality requirements, our in-house graphic artist may be able to assist in the preparation of the art. (Extra charges may apply). Please contact our customer service team for more information regarding art specifications.
Multi-Colour Printing Turnaround Times allow 5 working days to complete your order from artwork sign off. your consultants will be able to advise you on the lead time for your order based on artwork approval and the number of balloons to be printed. Proof sign off. Production will not commence until the client has signed off the artwork and it is returned to us, to ensure that the artwork printed is to your satisfaction. Pre-production Samples 5-10 samples will be supplied. If you decide once you have viewed the sample run to go ahead with the order you will not be charged for the setups again (this only applies if the art remains the same, if he art changes you will need to be charged new set ups). Frequently asked questions PRINTING The minimum print run is 100 balloons for 1 colour on 1 side only, all other specifications are a minimum of 250 balloons.
We can print on 30cm & 40cm rounds, along with 30cm LINK-O-LOON®. We are also happy to talk to you about printing on 90cm balloons.

This is using different thickness of dots to either create the illusion of tones, shades and graduated fills or to differentiate between a dark colour and a light colour within a design if we can only print it as a 1 colour print.
The choice is easy. Neck Up is for air inflated balloons that will be hung from the ceiling or displayed in bunches. Neck Down is for helium filled balloons or for air inflated balloons that are going on sticks and cups or to be handed out to be self inflated.
Top print involves printing on the top of the balloon. When printing on the top of the balloon, as it stretches the centre of the print can be become dull. A top print can also distort more as the top is a more curved surface than the sides.
Any type of shape (square, rectangle, and circle) will distort on a fully inflated balloon. This is due to printing on a curved surface. As each individual balloon inflates differently the distortion from one balloon to another may occur in different places. E.g. the top right of a square may distort on one balloon and then the top left of a square may distort on another.
Please note when printing a Red Ink on a light coloured balloon you will experience some ink transference, this includes small splatters however once Balloon is fully inflated to 30cm, ink transference will disappear.

ARTWORK We require an eps vector graphic file, formatted for PC with all fonts converted to curves or outlines. We also accept other files such as pdf’s and jpegs saved at 600 dpi. For detailed information on artwork please go to the Art Specifications page.
All art must have a 3-5mm gap between ink colours when multi-colour screen printing, this is due to movement that occurs between each ink colour printing. The balloons are inflated when printing, it prints the first colour and moves to another position to print the second colour - due to the movement that occurs when changing positions this second colour may move up , down, left or right of up to 5mm. This will cause gapping and/or overlapping when it is not required.
INK COLOURS Maximum number of four ink colours per balloon (or four screens per balloon)
PROOFS & SIGN OFF You will receive a fax or email proof of the final artwork for you to approve and sign off. Production will not commence until the client has signed off the artwork and it is returned to us, to ensure that the artwork printed is to your satisfaction.
